Evelyn: My travel day a bit disgruntling. I could have stayed home after all the delays and started again in the morning. Instead my Tampa flight made me miss my Texas flight, that added a Vegas flight (where I was going to be in two more days and meant another UP and DOWN turbulent flight) then a late night arrival in San Diego. I only had one day with family in SD. Airlines filling me in on open slots in an effort to get me places... a noisy 2 hour layover in Vegas.

Dusk

Evelyn: The light was lovely. Another trip to the dock with ice cream in hand.

Making Art

Evelyn: I spent the most part of my day in Sarasota, enjoying the creative journey of art journalism with a bunch of fabulous ladies. It has been a while since I have taken out my supplies and given myself permission to play. Feels warm.

Sweet Tooth

Evelyn: A Sweet Spot adventure with the little one, who likes cookies.

Sueded Shoes

Evelyn: Ed took my shoes with him to Bean Town, where he sueded the soles, and I finally got them back on my feet for a run. It is nice not having to replace the moleskin on the bottom, and spins seem a bit less effortless.

Glitterfish

Evelyn:  I see that Monica is slowly making her nest, as they have settled into their home after waiting months to have it in place. I am making my usual to Ybor, fascinated by the old ads projected on the wall during dance.

Elephant

Evelyn: Monica brought this from her travels when Justin was little. He still sits in the living room and watches us. And when I am tired, I find the easiest thing to photograph.

Clarity

Evelyn:  Antique shops in St. Augustine. It has been a lovely weekend, adventuring, shopping, eating, and discovering. This shop had a Florida room of just all glass objects, quite spectacular.

Art Deco

Evelyn:  St. Augustine and doors that are open. Each day provides opportunity for opening and shutting doors to the parts of my life that are in movement. I love Flagler College, and the intricate design, wood-work, and sculptures.

Tangles

Evelyn: Like a web, but the eager tangle of new growth at the end of a stalk. Sometimes growing feels a bit like tangles.

Chance

Evelyn: I was taken by the colors in one of those "arm" machines. The kind you drop bills into and hope the gripper drops in just the right spot, with just the right grip, to capture the object of desire. Sounds a bit like the chances in life.

Choices

Evelyn: I love projects. This one isn't mine... but the idea of helping with the choices is delightful.

Lighting My Life

Evelyn: Sometimes night-lights do more than just light up an area... they put something warm into those dark places ... they make me aware.

Evelyn: A late night in the classroom, and after all the rain, we often see an influx of amphibians. This little guy, a bit larger than a thumbnail, had to be caught and returned outside.

Evelyn: outside and a brief rain has left the residuals of its presence...

Last Minute Sky

Evelyn: It has been a long, challenging week. I am not sure what feels good, and I am tired, anxious, and eager to get home. The sky was more brilliant than I could capture, sitting in traffic... 

Lucy - The Beagle

Evelyn: He has a pup - Lucy - a beagle. She snortles a lot, was once a stray so she thinks she is always hungry. So far, we like each other.

Evelyn:  Pito's flowers. I spent the weekend working... going since the 2nd of July and through to the following weekend. A bit exhausted, but at least an early rise to a bright sunshine stop on Pito's flowers.

Evelyn: Bud & Betty have shared their home every year for 4th of July, and I didn't hesitate to pack my bags and make a trip for the hugs, and socializing, stories, and catch-up.
